Nervous about trying a new look? Start slowly. Subtle changes in haircut, shape and color can make dramatic differences. For style inspiration and a great new look, visit your Regis stylist today!

Research a new look

Before you even get to the salon, have an idea of what you want鈥攐r at least what you don鈥檛 want. Look in magazines or online for images to bring to your stylist.

When considering a new look, ask yourself鈥攁nd your stylist鈥攖hese questions:

What hair length will suit my face shape and body type?

How will that style look on me?

Does it fit my personality and lifestyle?

How much maintenance is involved?

Ask for styling advice.

If your every day style is pretty basic, try adding curls and a few highlights. If your hair is curly, try straightening it. You don鈥檛 have to go flat-ironed stick straight, just add a straightening balm to clean, damp hair and blow-dry while using a paddle brush to smooth hair and add shine.

Short Hair

Short hair with a defined shape is easy to care for and offers tons of styling options. Work with your stylist to find a short style that鈥檚 right for you. To keep a short shape fresh, schedule a haircut every five to six weeks.

Long Hair

Good shape is key to keep long hair looking stylish. Cutting interior layers in the hair will keep the length, but avoid bulk. Fringe or bangs will frame the face and bring out the best in facial features.

Remember: Long, healthy hair doesn鈥檛 just happen; you need to care for it and yes, it needs a trim every four to six weeks to keep it healthy and looking great.

Color

Change your hair color subtly with highlights or lowlights. Choose shades that look natural and complement your hair color and skin tone.

Highlights:

Lighten hair color without the level of commitment required for all-over color

Create texture and dimension without cutting a lot of layers into hair

Define movement in the shape of your haircut

Add shine

Lowlights:

Add richness and depth to hair color

Reduce maintenance of overly lightened hair

Define the shape of a haircut

Add shine

Well taking advise here isn't going to change anything.

You need to see your hairstylist and bring some photo's of what you like. Men don't change their hair that much.

We are always willing to work with you however step by step.

Be sure you get advice on how to wear your hair and what products you need to use to get that effect. That is what we do best so use your hairstylist for this help. Or find one that will work with you.
