I am a cool summer, with naturally medium/dark blond hair and darker green/hazel eyes, and have never dyed my hair other than high/lowlights. I really want to dye my hair brown. My question is, if you have cool skin, do you go with cool hair colors or warm? I thought light ash brown would be good, but I don't want to do it backwards! Also, what is the best, most reliable hair color product that is the most at-home user friendly? I would appreciate any input, and sorry about this being so long! Thanks!
Hair color question? Cool, warm, and confused!?
HI. For all over dye, YOu go WITH your skin tone. HIghlights you can contrast. So cool or neutral shades, or a mixture. Definately with for boxed dye!!!! Now, Good brands. I know.
Permanent:
1. Clairol l'image (I think in states they call it Ultress) - this is a brand that dyes darker so get your shade 2 shades lighter than your target.
2. Garnier nutrisse or belle color. - Keep in mind, there shades are also kind of dark, so you might want to go two shades lighter as well with this brand.
3. L'oreal Excellence.
Those are the best of the best. Otherwise, some pretty good products are: Preference and Revlon Coversilk.
The only semi-perm I highly recommend as safe is L'oreal color spa. NAtural instincts is good in its colors, but may be not be good for hair if used many times.
Keep in mind two things: First, that not all L'oreal products (preference, excellence, etc, mean equal quality. For example, Garnier Nutrisse may be good, whereas, 100 percent, not so much). Second, you must go more than one shade lighter for grays, depending on how much you have to cover. HAve fun.
