i know that in order to make hair blonder you need bleach , so how do semi permanent blonde dyes work ? and i have dark blonde , light brown hair , and i want it to be lighter , but not like super blonde or anything , so if i were to use a semi blonde dye , would it simply lighten my hair or bring out the highlights ? because thats what i want.. so if anyone has any expieriance or anythign with this please help me out here , and if u recomend it , which brand should i use ?

Depending on the depth/shade of your hair. Use a semi-permanent in ash blonde if you want to soften the gold tones in your hair or gold if you want to warm it up a little. Why not try a few foils just through the top layer of your hair? Then you could have a few different shades to create an interesting look. It shouldn't be too expensive if you just have a few. I wouldn't go with a permanent colour all over as if you don't like it, it can be a nightmare trying to get it back to its original colour and then you will have an obvious re-growth line as well. It might go blonde or it could go ginger like mine did!!! Why not use sun-in spray all you need to do is spray then use a hairdryer to dry it, the heat activates the spray bringing out your hairs natural highlights.

you probably wont get a light enough result but it will brighten your hair!hhmmm though if you wanted a gentle hairdye with no ammonia try casting!
