Cutting infant's hair -- Does shaving it really make it grow in thicker?

I had to shave my baby's hair when he was 3 months old. He was born with charcoal black hair and then it came in blond! He had 1/2 inch blond roots so I shaved his hair. Now it feels like an adults hair in thickness and texture. Could that be the reason?

As a baby gets older his hair does change. Some babies are born with dark hair and it turns blonde and vice versa. You did not make his hair thicker, that is just a myth that most believe believe in. What happens when you cut hair is it comes in more coarse than usual because it has ragged ends. I'm not quite sure why you would keep shaving his head, but you haven't done any damage.

He's getting older and his hair folucles change,

he's just growing up, usually babys have really thin smooth hair, you would expect the child to grow more hair ;D

So don't worry, I really disbelieve that shaving it makes it grow in thicker, because it can change the texture and the hair would grow out the same as it did before it got cut.

WHY on earth did you shave his head?????hes a baby,,,,most babies are born with dark hair and all babies loose their hair after a while,,,,poor mite it must have really irritated him when it was growing back,,,and he cant speak to tell you!!! if you want to know anything in future do it to your self.
